Who Am I?

Who are you? You may answer this by what type of job you have, by what your name is, by what type of ministry that you do, by what education you have, or what ethnic group you belong to. Others of us may answer based on others' opinions of us. Sometimes their words will be to good to be true and build up our pride, or be too critical and we begin to believe that we are failures. If that is all we hear, then oftentimes we begin to believe it. It gets even worse when Satan’s voice joins in. You hypocrite! You are not worthy to leads others, look at that sin in your life, you are so fake, you'll never be as good as. . . As we hear this, we begin to believe it and live like it is the truth. We live defeated, faithless lives when God has something so much more for us. We begin to pay such attention to our opinion and others' opinions of us that we begin to live like those who have no God.

You and I can’t know who we truly are until we hear God’s perspective. If we have given our lives to follow Jesus Christ we have a new nature (2 Cor 5:17). We are a child of God (John 1:12). We were bought with a price (1 Cor 6:19-20). We are citizens of heaven (Phil 3:20). We can do all things who gives us strength (Phil 4:13). And so much more.

So for today. Walk by faith. Not by emotion. Not by what others say or think about you. Just trust the new name that God has given you. Live like the child of the King that you are, not like a homeless child in the streets. You have all of His resources at your disposal. You have His name. Avoid the pride, your didn't earn it, it was given to you. At the same time walk with confidence knowing that you are not alone.

All you have to do is stay near the Father. In this you will find humility and provision. He will do it through you in a way that only He can take the glory. Now. . . go do ministry and love every minute of it.
